The campus is located in the town of Carlow, which has an interior of beautiful towns and villages from another era. With Carlow located in the central southeast region, many of our students come from the surrounding counties of Wexford, Kilkenny, Laois, Kildare and Wicklow. The Institute is also convenient to all major entry points in Ireland with the city of Dublin only 85km away. Dublin Airport is at a distance of 97 km and Rosslare Europort is 92 km from Carlow City Center.

Students must provide evidence of having achieved the required standard in the English language in reading, writing, and communication. A minimum IELTS score of 5.5 to 6 or equivalent study completion. Some programs may require a higher standard, for example computer science. A certified statement of English proficiency must be provided as a prerequisite for enrollment as a student of the Institute.
- Applicants must also have an IELTS of 5.5 or equivalent for Bachelor’s degrees and 6.5 for postgraduate degrees.
