The Master of Science in Strength and Conditioning has been designed to meet the growing demand for highly trained and qualified strength and conditioning practitioners.

This program is taught in full and part-time mode, which gives students the opportunity to study for a Master of Strength and Conditioning, corresponding to an NFQ Level 9 Qualification (90 ECTS credits).

The goal of the program is to provide an intellectually challenging applied graduate program that will prepare graduates with advanced knowledge, understanding, and practical strength and conditioning training skills, enabling them to work with elite athletes, recreational population groups, and specialized.

The program will be taught by staff who have significant experience in professional practice working with athletes and players of all levels up to the international level.

In addition to the wealth of on-site knowledge, international experts in the field will deliver guest lectures.

Facilities

On-site strength and conditioning resources include a state-of-the-art dedicated performance facility, comprising Eleiko equipment, a 30-meter indoor mondo track, sports halls, 4G pitches and a running track. The Department of Science and Health is equipped with physiology and biomechanics laboratories, each with a wide range of performance evaluation equipment.

Professional oportunities

Graduates of the program will be eligible to apply for membership of the Irish Institute of Sport (IIS), the United Kingdom Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) based in the United Kingdom. United States of America. It is expected that students will apply for these independent professional accreditations and will be adequately prepared to meet the strict competencies of each. Additionally, program graduates will have developed and honed the advanced skills required of an applied strength and conditioning practitioner and can implement them in their respective fields.

Admission requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study. Candidates who do not meet the requirements but have professional experience are also invited to apply for their case to be studied.
