Our Music Project Management and Audio Production course offers students the opportunity to develop their skills in the field through professional, industry-based projects. While working on these real-world projects, students are involved in both advanced audio production and music project management, greatly expanding employability. These projects are an integral part of Sound Training Productions – a recording and production company (led by graduates and students) that offers unique and unrivaled opportunities and links to key contacts in the music industry.

The specific objectives of the program are:

  • Develop students’ technical knowledge of the principles and practice of audio production, along with the creative, innovative and business skills required in the audio industries.
  • Cultivate students’ advanced technical and creative skills for audio recording and production.
  • Provide students with an understanding of the application of existing and emerging creative technologies and practices within the music industry to design and deliver creative products and services.
  • Develop students’ interpersonal and social skills to enable effective communication with colleagues from different technical, creative and business fields.
  • Develop students’ understanding and application of business concepts, project management, and marketing in audio production. </ li>
  • Develop responsible skills for project planning and management along with some responsibility to lead and develop others.
  • Facilitate the development of applied skills by the student that are directly complementary and relevant to both the workplace and a production environment.
  • Identify and develop autonomous learning skills for the student.
  • Provide students with academic skills to engage in experimentation, critical analysis, and self-study.

Career options

Graduates of audio production and music project management will be able to follow a career as producers, engineers of studio, live sound engineers, sound designers, production assistants, composers, and studio directors.

Admission requirements

  • S according to the new scale of common points for the certificate of Completion of 2019, applicants must earn a minimum of 2H5 and 4 O6 / H7, including one language. Subjects must include math, Irish or other language, and English.
  • For international candidates, the foreign equivalent is required. In addition, an officially translated degree will be required.
  • IELTS 6.0, with no less than 6.0 in any component (or its internationally recognized equivalent).
