This program is designed to provide Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering graduates, and graduates of closely related disciplines, with specialized skills and knowledge in technical design for Sustainable Infrastructure. The program consists of 12 taught modules and a Research Project module, and focuses, in particular, on sustainability, water engineering, numerical techniques, renewable and sustainable technologies, and transportation planning with options in structural engineering. advanced.
The program award is a Master of Engineering (ME), with the option to exit the program with a Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip). Graduates of the program will be ideally placed to participate in sustainable engineering research, analysis and design.

Program structure
The program consists of 12 taught modules, each with a value of five credits of the “European Credit Transfer System” (ECTS) and a Research Project module with a value of 30 ECTS credits, which gives the program a total value of ECTS credits of 90.
Evaluation
A variety of assessment methods are used to assess the modules taught, including assignments (group and individual), short tests, and formal exams. The Research Project module is evaluated through presentations and the final dissertation. Formal end-of-semester exams are held in January and May.
Admission requirements
Applicants will require a baccalaureate degree officially translated into English.
Suitability test and interview.
To be accepted into the program, the applicant must have one of the following:
- An honors bachelor’s degree, with a minimum achievement of a second-class honors degree, in Civil / Structural / Environmental Engineering or a closely related discipline. The degree must have a duration of four years and be accredited by the corresponding professional body.
- Any qualification that TU Dublin considers equivalent to No. 1 above, when taken in conjunction with relevant work experience.
- If English is not your first language, you will need to provide evidence of your proficiency in the English language as detailed on our website. Applicants for this program must have a minimum IELTS English proficiency (academic version) of 6.5 overall (or equivalent) with no less than 6 in each component.
