This program is specifically designed relevant to the modern business environment where the role of information systems has become increasingly important. Business professionals are now expected to master relevant technology concepts and applications, skills that were considered outside the domain of the traditional business degree. Information systems must be designed, implemented, and maintained using a variety of methodologies, tools, and technologies. This IS pathway aims to provide students with the skills, knowledge, and competencies in the use of related systems and technologies to control and manage organizational data and information.

The specific objectives of the program are:

  • Provide students with a solid foundation of contemporary business knowledge through the theory, concepts, and methods that form a deep academic foundation in the basic disciplines and skills and related areas necessary for a career in general business.

Program structure

The BA (Hons) in Business (Information Systems) is taught primarily through lectures and tutorials, with students taking responsibility for a significant amount of study outside of hours class contact details. Admission requirements

  • S according to the new scale of common points for the certificate of Completion of 2019, applicants must earn a minimum of 2H5 and 4 O6 / H7, including one language. Subjects must include math, Irish or other language, and English.
  • For international candidates, the foreign equivalent is required. In addition, an officially translated degree will be required.
