The NCI Bachelor of Business (Honors) is a broad-based, comprehensive business degree. You will cover all key business disciplines and have the opportunity to specialize in particular areas of business as you progress through the course.
In the first year, you will study a wide range of business subjects. After the first common year, you will be able to select a specialization in particular areas, such as entrepreneurship or international business, and further specializations will be developed in other business fields as well. The modules you study in your second and third year will vary depending on the route you have chosen.
Through the expert professors of our Business School, you will gain a great knowledge of how business works and in which part of the business world you would like to pursue your career. The advantage of this full-time degree is that it is very flexible and opens up a large number of professional careers. You gain a broad business foundation and can then focus on the particular area you enjoy most through your choice of specialization and a variety of elective modules throughout the course.
This degree also gives you many options to advance to master’s courses or graduate studies later on. If you are looking for a broad degree, a great start in business, and plenty of career options, this course will definitely appeal to you.
You can also take advantage of the opportunity to participate in an accredited one-year job placement between the second and third years. This placement will be credit and includes an additional year in the degree. Access to these locations will be limited and highly competitive.

Program structure
This bachelor of business course is a three-year honors degree (four years with the option of a placement *). The main course takes place over six semesters with continuous assessment throughout the course and exams at the end of each semester.
In each year of the degree, any student with a GPA of more than 70 will win a Dean award.
Upon completion, you will receive a QQI BA (Honors) in Business at level 8 in the National Qualifications Framework.
* Students who complete the Career Management Skills module and meet the established qualification criteria are eligible (subject to availability) to complete a job position in the third year of the program and graduate after 4 years with 240 ECTS credits.
Career opportunities
Graduates of the Bachelor’s degree (with honors) in the Business course will be eligible to apply for a variety of career options in both general management and specialized management roles. An analysis of recent graduates has identified career paths within accounting and finance, financial services, pensions, marketing, human resource management, recruitment, management, business development, and the company (start your own deal).

The course is ideal if you know you want a business qualification, but are not sure what area you want to specialize in or if you would like to develop a comprehensive understanding of business. The course is for dropouts, mature students, and graduates of QQI level 5/6 programs, who wish to embark on a full-time course of study.
Admission requirements
Minimum entry requirements are a grade H5 and above in two upper-level subjects along with a minimum of O6 / H7 in four other subjects. A minimum grade of O6 / H7 must be obtained in English. An O6 / H7 grade must be earned in Mathematics.
