BA (Honors) in Fashion Design
Key Points
Our BA (Hons) in Fashion Design is a three-year 8th grade course available full-time. The course will immerse you in all aspects of the fashion industry and prepare you for any role that requires both creative talent and technical and business knowledge.
- Through our Fashion Design and Garment Construction modules, students develop practical skills and explore a personal design philosophy.
- From concept generation, advanced design, and pattern development to garment creation, students create a fashion collection using techniques contemporary production.
- Our curriculum offers training in more dynamic 3D CAD (CAM) pattern and manufacturing technology, supplemented by knowledge of business and professional practice .
- Students learn to think creatively when faced with design challenges, adapt to industry changes, and develop key skills needed to liaise with offshore production facilities.
- The caliber of our fashion graduates’ work has been recognized through numerous industry awards and exhibitions.
- An annual Creative Week presents graduates of the School of Design with those of Media, Journalism, Computing, Film and Photography.
- Our graduates have strong brand communication and business skills, their collection can be found at Brown Thomas Create, Havana Boutique, Marion Cuddy, Om Diva and Design House.

Admission requirements
- Applicants will require a bachelor’s degree officially translated into English.
- For international candidates, the foreign equivalent is required. In addition, an officially translated degree will be required.
- If English is not your mother tongue, you must show that your level of English is at an adequate level, that is, a minimum of 6.0 IELTS or equivalent.
