The Master of Management (Aviation Leadership) is a specialized graduate program designed to provide participants with aviation knowledge in all key sectors of aviation combined with an education in strategic management.

Program description

The teaching faculty has academic backgrounds and extensive industry experience, and many have backgrounds in all branches of industry: airlines, airports, ATC, and regulatory offices.

The program’s guest lecture series exposes students to the views of top aviation managers on today’s significant aviation issues and challenges facing senior managers aircraft. Course content is guided by our Aviation Industry Advisory Board and reflects current and future issues and trends in the global aviation industry.

The objectives of the program are to provide graduates with:

  • Understanding of the complex coordination required of the various components of airport operations.
  • The important leadership and management competencies required to plan and execute an aviation industry strategy.
  • Understanding of the characteristics, requirements and legal aspects of aviation organizations.
  • The skills necessary to perform business analysis and strategic thinking.
  • The ability to direct and initiate research and professional activities independently or as part of an aviation management team.
  • Ability to take a leadership role in the future development of the global aviation industry.

The aviation industry is expanding in Ireland and internationally. Students in the program come from management and senior management primarily in the aviation industry and will seek to accelerate their careers after graduation.

Admission requirements

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with honors (H2.1) or an equivalent professional qualification (ATCO; CPL); combined with 3 years of work experience in the aviation industry.
  • If an applicant does not have a university degree, but has sufficient and relevant work experience (more than 5 years in the aviation industry), a special case of acceptance can be presented.
  • Recent graduates (with less than 3 years of relevant work experience or with work experience in a different industry) who have the equivalent of a first-class title of honor.
  • For international candidates, the foreign equivalent is required. In addition, an officially translated degree will be required.
  • IELTS 6.5, and 6.5 in writing and speaking. Other sections score 6.0 or higher (or its internationally recognized equivalent).
