The Digital Marketing Specialist Diploma Co-op program focuses on marketing, advertising and campaign management through the PPC marketing model, social media and research to build the right marketing strategy. This program is powered by the Digital Marketing Institute (DMI) and upon successful completion you will receive a Digital Marketing Associate certificate.

* Students will be offered paid or unpaid entry level positions related to their field of study. The Professional Services Department will provide full support to students in booking and preparing for interviews. It is the student’s responsibility to perform well during all interviews, as well as throughout the cooperative period. Placements are subject to availability and will vary by program, season, and job market changes, as well as the student’s level of English and prior professional and academic experience. Program structure

You will have at least 480 hours of guided learning, followed by 240 hours of internship in an established business.

This module is designed to provide you with the necessary skills to create a customer profile and analyze the digital market. The module will allow you to understand the principles of digital advertising, the key elements of branding and competitive analysis.

In this module, you will learn about the Internet and search engines. You will learn to review concepts and processes on the Internet, the meaning of a domain, how to buy a domain and evaluate the differences in URL extensions, storage servers and FTP files. This module will also focus on how search engines work and what factors influence website promotion (content, age, links, load times, Google spiders, negative SEO).

You will also learn about Online Reputation Management (ORM) and you will learn to manage the information presented on the Internet (about the brand or product), while analyzing known cases on the subject.

Another concept covered during this module is market research and keywords. You will learn to identify trends and write client reports on keyword research tools, including keyword research practice, and you will learn how to manage the results.

In addition, you will learn about optimization, including developing your familiarity with common errors and references, site accessibility to search engines and code testing, site structure testing tools, and content testing tools. of the site. You will practice site optimization tests and create a complete optimization report.

This module is designed to give you the skills to create an HTML page and manage content. The module will allow you to learn the principles of writing code, creating thoughtful and absolute links, integrating objects on a page, and loading the site on a network.

Google Analytics is software for analyzing website traffic. You will practice using this, you will learn about account and profile management, how to decode key reports and define goals. The final part of this unit includes preparing for the Google Analytics certification exam.

This module is designed to give you the skills to set up and manage campaigns using social media, analyze the differences between types of campaigns, and build a visual strategy. The module will allow you to prepare for the Facebook Blueprint certification exam.

In this module, you will learn how to create a Google Ads account, rules for creating ads, using dynamic extensions, conversion types, and using conversion optimizers. You’ll also learn about bidding, including types of bidding strategies, trade-offs, strategy adjustments for business purposes, and tracking return on investment (ROI). The final part of this unit includes preparing for the Google Ads certification exams.

This module is designed to provide you with basic skills in the following tools: LinkedIn, charting software (for quick editing), social activity management and analysis software. You will also learn about regulatory and compliance practices that are used in the digital marketing industry.

In this unit, you will gain hands-on experience writing web content, including how to write a blog or post, newsletters, emails, landing pages, display ads, Facebook ads, native ads, and website content.

After successfully completing the academic requirements for the module, you must complete 480 hours of internship relevant to the program. Business sectors in which you can place include marketing, retail, finance and accounting, nonprofits, customer service, and administration.

Although the skills required for the job will vary by location, key responsibilities include being supervised at all times, observing all safety and security procedures in the workplace and school, dressing appropriately, interacting professionally with staff, learning about the work environment and participate in the daily routine required by the employer.

An internship has been incorporated into this diploma so that you can put the theoretical components of the program into practice in practical learning situations and apply your skills to facilitate business operations. The Professional Services Department will help you get a placement by sending you for interviews. Upon completion of your internship, you must submit your placement report and your supervisor will complete an evaluation form for you to successfully graduate.

Admission requirements

Have an Ontario high school diploma or equivalent or be at least 18 years old and pass the Wonderlic exam.

For non-native English speakers:

  • Successful completion of TSoM EAP Level 4 or
  • Have the required IELTS 5.5 score or equivalent or
  • Pass the TSoM English Assessment (written on site or online with the exam proctor)
  • For international students, a Bachelor’s degree taken in the country of origin will be necessary. The degree and grades must be officially translated into English.
