Understand the role that communication plays in our daily lives and its influence on people and society through the arts and the media. You will explore the topic through theory and practice and work both creatively and analytically.
The course will give you an in-depth understanding of the role that communications play in local, national and international settings by teaching you how to think critically about communication in its various forms. It will also introduce you to the various careers available to graduates and help you decide which one interests you the most.
The program includes basic, core, production and optional modules in performance, audio, images and video.
Program description
The Communication Studies course is structured around four key elements: core modules, core modules, production modules, and optional modules.
The first year core modules provide a foundation in the disciplines you will need for more advanced work in later years.
The core modules in years two and three will help you develop a critical awareness of developments in the areas of communication, media, and cultural studies.
Production modules ensure that you develop skills in audio, video, images, and communication / presentation skills.
With your optional modules, you will develop expertise in a number of key areas that reflect your particular skills and aspirations. Senior’s Optional (Non-Productive) Research Project is an original academic piece of work.
You will develop a theoretical understanding of communication, the media and society while learning the basics of media production.

Program structure
Admission requirements
- As a general requirement, a Bachelor’s Degree / Baccalaureate Diploma / General Baccalaureate / Professional Degree from a recognized university with, minimum, is required a subject in mathematics.
- For international candidates, the foreign equivalent is required. In addition, an officially translated degree will be required.
- IELTS 6.5, with no less than 6.0 in any component (or its internationally recognized equivalent).
