Graduates of this 40-week program will receive a solid foundation in business administration. The program prepares students for employment in the corporate world, or for future business studies, through a variety of courses focused on developing various skills necessary for successful business operations. Learning is enhanced with classroom discussions, case studies, team projects, and presentations.

Learning methods

The Business Administration program consists of five two-month certificates.
Each certificate lasts for 8 weeks. After successfully completing all five certificates, students will receive the Advanced Diploma in Business Administration.

Program structure

This course introduces students to globalization and the value-added activities of business in today’s global economy. We discuss the impact of national cultures on business globally. Additionally, we examine external forces impacting businesses, international organizations, legal and labor forces in the global context. The course addresses strategic alliances and the impact of rapid environmental changes on strategic planning for international business.

This course is designed to provide students with an introduction to marketing concepts and terminology. Examines the importance of marketing within organizations and society in general. Students will study the main components of a marketing plan, the marketing mix, and consumer relationships. They will learn to address the basic needs of companies in the planning, development and management of products, distribution channels, promotion and prices.

This course introduces students to the concepts of organizational behavior and its application in today’s business environments. Students will develop knowledge about how the behavior of individuals and groups impacts organizations. In addition, they will learn to apply the theories and concepts of organizational behavior to develop effective managerial competencies in areas such as teamwork, motivation, decision-making, and leadership.

The ability to communicate well is an essential requirement for all employees in an organization. In this course we explore the importance of communication in business and intercultural environments; Students also compose various forms of written communication and prepare and deliver a formal business presentation.

This course introduces students to the concept of management by exploring the roles and functions of managers in a business environment. The purpose of the course is to enhance students’ understanding of the elements of the management processes of planning, organizing, directing, and controlling organizational activities. The course is designed to build a necessary knowledge base in future management courses.

In this course, students will learn strategies and techniques to establish and implement a personal professional development plan to strive for efficiency and effectiveness in business. Students will reflect on their personal self-awareness by assessing their values, strengths, and weaknesses, as well as their outlook on life. This will also help students set meaningful life and career goals, align with their goals more effectively, and understand themselves in relation to others.

This course introduces the theory, principles, and applications of human resources from a managerial perspective. Operational topics such as human resource planning, hiring, job analysis, performance management, and employee development are some of the practical aspects covered. The course ends with a look at international problems in human resource management for companies operating in the global environment.

This course introduces the student to the theory, principles, and applications of fundamental business accounting. The course begins by introducing the student to standard and established accounting principles. The course will advance the application of accounting principles to specific financial statements and detailed accounting transactions. The course ends by familiarizing the student with the skills necessary to efficiently classify the relevant business accounts culminating in the completion of the basic accounting cycle.

This introductory course is designed to expose students to the financial problems and concerns of general managers in modern business. This course, which focuses on how to use financial management to make decisions, provides students with all the practical skills necessary to be successful in business. The content includes examples of how Canadian companies adapted financial policies to the recent financial crisis; as well as coverage of topics such as balance analysis, shareholder value and financial statements.

This course is designed to expose students to the problems and concerns of general managers in modern business. The course content is based on the basics of the Introduction to Management course. Using case studies, students will analyze corporate strategies focusing on opportunities and problems in the context of the external and internal environments of companies. An important element of analysis is how managers make strategic decisions for the success of the organization. Prerequisite: Basic accounting; Introduction to management recommended

Admission requirements

  • Students who are interested in attending Greystone College must have a high school diploma, GED, or mature student status.
  • International students will require a Bachelor’s degree from their country of origin. The degree and grades must be officially translated into English.
  • All applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate an Advanced English 1 level with Greystone College’s online written and oral test.
  • All students must have their own device (tablet / phone / laptop) to access course materials through our Learning Management System (LMS).

Online written and oral test is exempt if TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS 6.5 or ILSC A1 is taken.
If an applicant does not meet the minimum requirements, neither the institution nor the student can waive him.
